A Grown-Up Treehouse Tree-bute

In Elkhorn, Wisconsin stands a tribute to a parent, mentor and friend. The giant pedestal that used to be an old elm tree now proudly cradles the monument affectionately known as Tom’s Treehouse.

One year after he hung a large swing on the huge elm tree at the camp owned by his daughter Tereasa, Tom passed away. Soon after, as if from a broken heart, the aging elm tree gave up its fight. While cutting the limbs for firewood, Tereasa’s brother David realized the tree’s trunk still solid so they decided to build an adult treehouse in memory of their loving dad. Using mostly recycled and refurbished materials, it was a massive group project taken on by friends and family. “Tom’s Treehouse,” is by far everyone’s favorite spot at Camp Wandawega. And yes, his swing is still there too. You can view the article here.  We are Austin Tree Houses. We Build Trust. And we can build this, or anything else for your family.
